Overview

ReColure is a digital furniture-restoration platform that allows customers to browse restored pieces and request restoration services for furniture they already own.

The redesign focused on making those two services easier to understand, navigate, and use within one cohesive experience.

The challenge

The original experience did not clearly communicate how the restoration process worked or distinguish between shopping for available furniture and requesting a custom restoration.

Important information was difficult to locate, and the site structure did not sufficiently support the different goals visitors brought to the platform.

Information architecture

I reorganized the platform around two primary pathways:

  • Shop restored furniture

  • Request a restoration

The revised information architecture brings the restoration process, available pieces, customer stories, sustainability information, and contact options into a clearer hierarchy.

Research and discovery

I began by mapping the needs people may have when considering a furniture-restoration service. The research highlighted six recurring priorities: convenience, visual inspiration, support, sustainability, transparency, and trust.

User personas and journey mapping helped identify where visitors needed additional information or reassurance. These findings informed the content requirements and clarified which actions needed to be prioritized throughout the experience.

Interface design

Paper wireframes were used to explore page structure and content priority before moving into higher-fidelity screens.

The final interface uses prominent calls to action, consistent navigation, and a flexible design system to create a clearer and more engaging experience. Product imagery and customer stories help establish trust while giving restored furniture a stronger visual presence.

The outcome

The resulting concept gives visitors a clearer understanding of ReColure’s services and how to begin. Shopping and restoration requests are treated as distinct journeys while remaining connected through one consistent system.

The redesign demonstrates how stronger information architecture and clearer content hierarchy can make a specialized service more approachable.
