ReColure is an innovative online platform dedicated to the art of furniture restoration. Our mission is to bring new life to old furniture, offering beautifully restored pieces for sale and providing custom restoration services for customers’ beloved items.
ReColure faced significant challenges with user experience, primarily due to insufficient information architecture.
Identified Problems:
The website lacked comprehensive information about the restoration process and the available pieces.
Navigation was cumbersome, making it difficult for users to find and request restoration services.
The overall user experience was not engaging enough, leading to decreased conversions and customer inquiries.
The Solution:
As the lead UX designer, I undertook a complete redesign of ReColure’s website. The goal was to create a seamless, user-friendly platform that showcases restored furniture and makes it easy for customers to request custom restoration services.
ReColure’s existence
Here are some reasons why ReColure should exist:
Sustainability and Environmental Impact: ReColure promotes sustainability by encouraging the restoration and reuse of existing furniture rather than purchasing new pieces. This reduces waste and the environmental impact associated with the production and disposal of furniture.
Unique and Personalized Furniture: Many people appreciate having unique, personalized furniture pieces that reflect their style. ReColure offers customized restoration services, allowing customers to preserve sentimental pieces or tailor items to their preferences.
Cost-Effective Solutions: Restoring furniture is often more affordable than buying new high-quality pieces. ReColure provides an economical option for individuals looking to upgrade their furniture without breaking the bank.
Convenience and Accessibility: With the ReColure app, customers can easily browse restored furniture for sale or request restoration services for their own pieces from the comfort of their homes. This convenience makes high-quality furniture restoration accessible to a broader audience.
Educational Opportunities: ReColure can also offer workshops, tutorials, and resources on furniture restoration techniques, educating the public and fostering a community of DIY enthusiasts.
Trend Alignment: There is a growing trend towards sustainable living, DIY projects, and unique home decor. ReColure aligns with these trends, tapping into a market that values individuality, sustainability, and creativity.
Now that we know why reColure exists, we must now understand…
Information from the mind map gathers that when it comes to a furniture restoration service, users want convenience, visuals, support, inspiration, sustainability and trust.
let’s meet our users:
Creating user personas in the ideation phase allows for a clearer picture of who will be using the product. With the personas in mind throughout the process, it will enable the chance to create a UX for ReColure that accommodates user goals, solves frustrations and provides solutions to the users needs and preferences.
